“Hoax Kitten”? Think they’ll buy it?
And so concludes our fourth storyline, probably the most ambitious to date, loaded with twists and turns and a few reveals. We end on one final corker, revealing where that flying vial of cat elixir ended up. So what’s Simon gonna do with it?
Hope you enjoyed! I’m excited that I was finally able to share these plot bits that I’ve kept under wraps for so long. (Don’t believe me? Go back and read the bios and you’ll see some clues to some of our reveals…)
Lots of exciting stuff coming up! Next installment will be a holiday-themed Coffee Break. Then, January is “Temp Month,” where we’ll run guest comics by a host of talented artists who bring their own take on The Hero Business universe. Meanwhile, I’ll be ramping up the fifth storyline, which focuses on everyone’s favorite unscrupulous Marketing Director.
Also, a reminder that prints are still available in The Hero Business Gift Shop, along with a bunch of cool HB swag. Order while you can.
Alrightly then, Heroites, comments ahoy!

Hoho! Intrigue!
Republi-Cannon sounds awesome, I hope that scandal gets into a strip soon.
I went back and read the bios – does anyone else wonder if he’s in league with Demonatrix in some way? I mean, he wants to run the Hero Business, and she wants to bring down it’s current staff structure…
Probably not. He’s evil in scamming people out of their money, but not evil in the supervillian sense. We’d have to hear about his past before we really pinpoint if he’s TRULY evil.
I’m hoping his plans are more “personal pleasure” than “corporate takeover” with the vial.
Still, a great end to the 4th chapter.
Simon probably kept it so he could get his feelings reciprocated.
Oh, Simon—good thing you’re not allergic to cats!
Also, I couldn’t have thought of a more better punchline to end the page.
Hmmm, seems a little rape-y…
Morally speaking, it probably would be rape if he used it to have sex with her. But I’m not sure what the law has to say about magic cat potions.
I would imagine that in this universe there must have been law suits over using magic/powers to coerce people before, it sounds like something the Hero Business would have to deal with.
And wouldn’t WANT to deal with often.
Well, first, we don’t know what Simon plans to do with that vial.
And secondly, the personality transformations of comic book lore present some thorny issues on that front.. Despite what Morgan says here. though, she also told Glamazon that the elixir brought out her “wild side” — so it’s a little more like a Jen Walters / She-Hulk scenario.
And with that parallel, no one looks at She-Hulk (or Jen) as an alter, or would accuse Wyatt Wingfoot (or the rest) or taking advantage of Shulkie.
And what of the romantic relationships of Hulk, Morbius, Aurora, Typhoid Mary, Buffy’s Angel, the Titans’ Pantha… and the rest? There’s a slew of heroes/villains with transformative personalities that carry on romantic relationships wherein the parties are aware of the transformation.
At any rate, keep reading and we’ll see how this all plays out…
Ending on a pun. Always a success.
